Chess Library

A special thanks to Dr. Isadore Hauser for donating a complete chess library to our club.  A former professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Dr. Hauser was a physicist whose specialty was research in gravitational waves.  Izzy, as he was known, started playing chess in Brooklyn as a young boy and continued throughout his life.  One of the donated books he received as a prize for “Best Played Game” in a tournament played in 1940!  This is an excellent collection of books for players of all skill levels, covering all the important aspects of the game.

These books are for members who are interested in learning more about the game.  You must have some record of attendance with the club before you can borrow a book. If you would like to borrow a book, use the contact form to let us know.  Members who do not return books as agreed, will experience disasters over the board that will lead them to give up the game, in addition to other calamities in their personal lives, for which this club assumes no responsibility.
